Jail overview:
The Washoe County Reno-Sparks Jail, operated by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department, was designed as one of the nation’s first direct-supervision detention facilities, and is viewed as a model U.S. jail facility. It currently holds 1,000-plus inmates.

Jail policies:
Inmates at the Washoe County Reno-Sparks Jail may not receive visitors for up to five days from the time of their arrest. Following that time, the visitation days and hours are scheduled according to the first letter of the inmates’ last names. Visitation is subject to cancellation at anytime, so call 775-328-2952 before going to the jail to see someone held there.

As part of its services, the jail provides daily transportation for inmates to the Washoe County District Courts, the Reno and Sparks Justice and Municipal Courts.

Bail information:
CR Bail Bonds can handle all of the details of bail bonds to obtain the release of those held in the Washoe County Reno-Sparks Jail. Once the sheriff’s department receives a bond from us, it usually takes four to six hours for release of the individual. The sheriff’s department charges a $40 fee to accept a bond, which is in addition to our bail bondsman’s fee.
